Excellent food, fresh and delicious! The staff is very welcoming and helpful. If you want a real taste of Russian food, this is the place to go. Their deserts are great and especially cake Napoleon. It’s mind blowing. I‘ll be definitely coming back.

The restaurant it self is a representation of Russian culture, starting from the food, the music, the atmosphere and the people. Many famous Russuan and non Russian people have visited the place. The food is excellent, the staff ia great, the music could be better though its audience are 30+ so I understand why I might not like it. Overall great place and I suggest you to try it.

I tried chicken leg, it was something new I had never tried before, it seems they grind the chicken and mix it with mushrooms. Tasted good, next time I wanna try the shenizzel.

Absolutely loved it. Great authentic Eastern European food. The food was delicious, and price very reasonable. If you are looking for Russian/Eastern Euro food, this is the place. This decor could be redone, but I still give it 5 stars

I was looking for Khinkali and I found these amazing one!! They are perfectly shaped. I was surprised by the dill in it but it tastes good. I would have loved a mountain style version without herbs and only spices.

Amazing place for authentic Russian food , service is always great. They are actually one of the few places in Montreal where you can get Russian Beer , which is delicious by the way !

I have been coming to this place since the 90s. The restaurant never disappoints with the quality. Very traditional and tasty. The staff are nice too.

Hearty food. Not too greasy and not too salty. The pot roast was especially awesome (bland but that means healthy!)

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you sit down at La Caverne, it doesn't take long to feel right in Russia. Restaurant is not that big, but was not too crowded either for a Friday night (with a live singer!) Went with a Ukrainian friend and the dishes (and staff!) were authentic Russian as I was told. Some people danced a bit too, which was nice and didn't appear out of place. The food was pretty good, would go again to try other items on the menu :)

Delicious crepes with caviar, like my grandma used to make. I ended up getting two orders because they were so tasty.

Had never tried Russian food before. Unsure. Decided to try it. Very pleasantly surprised. Great food at fair prices. Try it! The atmosphere is cozy and fun. Waiter is attentive and useful. Great service! - Gave him a good tip.

Unique, traditionnal place and friendly staff :) got to practice my russian with the server when I went there!

Authentic, interesting, tasty food. What more could you ask for? The waiter is very helpful if you have any questions or are new to the cuisine and the atmosphere is both cozy and fun. I brought some visiting friends here the other weekend and it was a hit with them as well!

Good Russian food! Broscht was amazing!Napoleon cake - must try!Would not recommend for vegetarians - just one main course, one starter and one soup. But I think you wouldn’t expect much from a Russian place for veggies.

A basement restaurant with a spooky ambience. They have a good selection of Eastern European dishes. The borscht soup was great. The main dish didn't exactly suit my tastes.

I have visited this family restaurant with a friend of mine and I was amazed by the wonderful culinary experience. She has a Russian background so she made some excellent recommendations. It was my first time experiencing Russian food: 1) The food was super tasty, 2)Fresh ingredients 3) The ambiance is very cozy, 4) the server was super kind & courteous and the owner was a gem, he took the time to explain to me the meaning of a beautiful hand made piece of art. I had a wonderful time and I left with a huge smile on my face. I will certainly visit again in the future! Thank you La Caverne, 5 Stars all the way!

Nice place

Comfortable place, good food and traditional russian decorations here, not a lot of lights in this place and I think for some people it will be a little strange, if you want to try traditional russian meals this is an exellent place to do so. Also I saw stage there, so probably they have some sort of singer that comes sometime to sing songs. I liked staff and definetely come again but with more people))

Had a great time. A little worried at first from initial impression but turned out a great time. Will definitely return next time we visit Montreal.Not a ton of space so you may want to reserve, although we didn't and there was no problem getting seated.We shared everything we ordered and none of it was disappointing. Borsh soup was delicious. Overall, the flavours were well balanced and refreshing.It was a Saturday so we also enjoyed the live singing performance. Also, highly recommend trying the vodka which is served in chilled shot glass.

La Caverne is a delightful Russia restaurant with authentic music and staff. The walls are covered in celebrity pictures and the wait staff is fantastically kind. If you're looking for a fun time, La Caverne is the place for you with affordable prices, russian folk music on certain days and great dishes! Take a picture with their titular bear for fun after your great meal!
